Job Overview

Our client is seeking an Installation and Marine Coordinator to support the Liverpool Bay CCS project. The role is responsible for supervising and coordinating all marine activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

Key activities include managing jack-up accommodation vessel movements, platform supply vessels (as required), cable laying and trenching works, diving operations, and load-out activities. The role also involves overseeing offshore structure transportation and installation, offshore personnel transfers, and SIMOPS when applicable.

You will act as the primary marine interface with other operators’ activities in the area, ensuring seamless coordination and operational integrity throughout offshore operations.

About Our Client

Our client is the owner and operator of the Liverpool Bay Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) Transportation and Storage (T&S) infrastructure, a key element of the HyNet North West Industrial Cluster. The project supports the reduction of carbon emissions across the North West of England and North Wales.

Working with hard-to-abate industries, our client transports captured CO₂ from multiple plants to safe and permanent storage beneath Liverpool Bay. The project repurposes existing infrastructure, including depleted reservoirs that have safely stored natural gas for millions of years, supporting regional economic growth and contributing to the UK’s Net Zero objectives.

Joining our client means becoming part of a pioneering carbon capture and storage initiative, contributing to a sustainable future within a dynamic and innovative working environment.

  • Monitor transportation and installation engineering readiness
  • Develop, maintain, and implement the Vessel Management Plan

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project vessels, offshore supervisors, contractors, and stakeholders during offshore operations
  • Maintain continuous communication with vessels, offshore platforms, and jack-up units
  • Identify survey and remedial work requirements to support vessel positioning
  • Maintain up-to-date marine documentation (excluding self-produced documentation)
  • Manage audits of vessels, jack-ups (marine aspects), and ports when required
  • Participate in HSE activities, including HAZID and related workshops
  • Ensure compliance with navigational safety measures, including exclusion and safety zones, guard vessel coordination, and COLREGs
  • Support the issuance of Notices to Mariners, Kingfisher Bulletins, and other stakeholder communications as required
  • Coordinate with the Fisheries Liaison Officer (FLO) regarding fishing activity interactions
  • Act as the first-response coordination point for vessel-related emergencies (e.g. collision, fire, man overboard, oil spill)
  • Initiate emergency communications with HM Coastguard and follow escalation pathways defined in the Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (OPEP) and Emergency Response Plan
  • Document incidents and support post-incident investigations and reporting
  • Maintain records of vessel activity, daily reports, incidents, and near misses
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and standards
